A fun day with my Mom and sibs.
I had a great day. My siblings and I met at my Mom' home in Orem and spent the entire day working together to "wake up" Mom's yard for spring. Pruning fruit trees, pruning roses, trimming shrubs, repairing cedar fences, preparing seed bed for veggie garden, weeding, mowing, trimming, raking...you all know the drill. It was a lot of joyful work...and Mom enjoyed every minute of it.
I stayed late and watched old movies with Mom. We watched Ivanhoe (Elizabeth Taylor, Robert Taylor), Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. "I can't do that. Can you do that? How can they do that? Who are those guys?" "You just keep thinkin' Butch...that's what you're good at." "Don't ya wanna know why?" "You can't swim! Why hell, the fall will kill you!" Then we watched A Few Good Men. "I want the truth!" "You can't handle the truth." "Don't you call me son. I'm an officer in the Unites States Navy...and you're under arrest, you SOB!"
What a fun day and evening. Debby didn't even miss me. She spent the day on a ropes course with Cameille. I can't wait to hear about it in the morning. She fell into bed, exhausted, before I got home. Night All!

Conference was wonderful! My favorite, for special reasons, was Saturday night Priesthood Mtg. All three of my boys, with Jamie (and his dad, George) and Pete, joined me at the stake center and for dinner afterward. The meeting was great. I will always remember Bishop Edgley's talk about rescuing our brethren in financial trouble...analogous to the saints in SLC rescuing the winter-stranded saints in Wyoming. He asked, "what if you received a call from your priesthood leader to leave a warm home and travel to Wyoming, laden with supplies, to bring the stranded saints home?" He said, "Well, brethren, consider this your phone call!" Couldn't be more direct. I must see what I can do to help brethren in trouble. I think I will go to our local employment center and volunteer to help with resumes. Let's all think what we can do to help those we know who are in distress.
Love you all.

Wow, boys and girls...that was really fun!!!! Thanks to all of you for the efforts you made to get here. We had a blast. We'll share the family pic when we get it. You all were very generous helping with the $$ for the meal, so Mom and I will use some of the money to offset the cost of making prints of the family pic. I have no idea how much it will cost, but when we find out, we'll let you know and you can all make decisions about size of the photo, how many you want, 'n stuff.
Thanks again for being so much fun and for having such wonderful, beautiful children!!!
We love you so much!

Hello, Family,
I'm so looking forward to tonight! Although I'm sad that the Lamborns will be so far away for so long, I'm also thrilled for their opportunity to venture out and pursue a dream. We'll just have to make a way to visit them once in awhile.
Tonight will be a lot of fun. We're having ham and twice baked potatoes for the kids and the faint of heart. For the rest of us, we're having Pho, a delicious Vietnamese noodle soup...with fresh spring rolls and peanut sauce.
And, we're going to have a family picture taken...over at the church. Debby promises this will take no more than 30 minutes, total. We will have to photoshop Sarah and Pedro into the pic. We will make the pic available to all.
So, come and have a great time. I'll post some pics of the event in a week or so.
All our love,
Mom and DAD
